What Is Candidiasis?
Candidiasis, also known as Thrush, is a yeast infection that most often affects women. A yeast infection can also be called vaginal thrush. This type of yeast infection belongs to a group of fungi containing more than 20 species, and for the most part, it lives in your body causing no harm to your body whatsoever. Typically it lives in your digestive system as well as the vaginal area without causing any problems. However, when there is an overgrowth of Candida in your body, it can cause other parts of your body to become infected.
The symptoms can be painful and uncomfortable for a woman with a yeast infection. There is usually a thick white vaginal discharge that looks very similar to cottage cheese, and it is usually accompanied by itching, burning, or a painful rash. In men, the rash and redness are found on the underside of the penis, and with women, it is found on the outer layers of your vagina and even on your inner thighs. Candidiasis Thrush can also show up as Athlete’s Foot, Jock Itch, and even sores on your lips, cheeks, or tongue. Although Thrush usually goes away within a few weeks of your first symptoms it can lead to more severe conditions that include fatigue, anxiety, depression, digestive problems, and frequent infections.
Thrush can be frequent in people with weakened immune systems, or for people that have unhealthy eating habits. Most commonly though, the Candida overgrowth occurs as a result of your antibiotic use or hormonal changes that affect your body. It may affect your mouth, groin, vagina, nail beds, or the folds of your skin. If left untreated, it can affect many more parts of your body.
When you have Candidasis in one particular spot it can be treated with topical creams, suppositories, or mouthwash, depending on where the thrush is found. However, if you have a more generalized thrush infection then you should treat it with an oral anti-fungal medication. However, for the typical thrush infections, there are many natural treatments that can help with your fungal infections. These herbal remedies work very well to help clear up the Candidasis and work with your body to relieve some of the uncomfortable symptoms.
Vaginal thrush is especially affected by natural medicine. It takes away the overall discomfort that is felt by women, and it helps to control the overgrowth so that your bacteria will eventually return to a more stable condition whereas the vaginal thrush problem will go away. There are many herbs that can help with this because of the anti-fungal properties in which they are made of. There are herbs that you can use topically or internally to deal with the thrush problem you are having.
